Bauer is.....how music should be, exciting, harmonious and not afraid to trot experimental side paths without clear outcome. Bauer could be that certain band you've been looking for for a long long time. Bauer basically exists in the comfortable zone between now, tomorrow and the day before yesterday. Wow, what a zone!

How did Bauer sprout? Bauer was founded by Berend Dubbe, who once banged the drums for a band called bettie serveert, after years of promoting this combo he got tired of the music, the people and himself being there. 'I'm sorry guys, It's probably better for you, me and the music that I just pack my stuff and go' was a sentence heard on that afternoon in July 1999. 'I'm gonna buy an 8-track machine and try some tunes out for myself' also. Berend started recording with the simplest means available: his voice. A week later he bought a sheitload of electronics and recorded an album called ‘On The Move’ which was released in Holland by Excelsior recordings. The album was soon critically acclaimed as being ‘real good’. Which was great for Berend.

And now? Now there’s a brand new album called ‘Can’t Stop Singing’. It’s based on a true story ‘cause Bauer actually finds it really hard not to sing. It’s released on Partners In Crime Records in Holland. There are no reviews yet, but everybody is real excited.

Is Bauer still Berend alone? Nope. Bauer on record is now Berend Dubbe and Sonja van Hamel. They recorded ‘can’t stop singing’ together over the last 8 months.

How did that happen? Stuff just does.

And live? And live? Bauer live is a totally different Gouda as we say here in Holland. Bauer live is a band with actual playing musicians. Bauer live is Berend and Sonja on keys, Frank van Praag on guitar and electronics and a real excellent drummerman called Robbert Verbout. Bauer had quite a history with drummers, I think we're working with our 6th drummer now, it wasn't that they weren't good, but not everybody fully appreciated the Miscellaneous Fuzzy After Show Salad Bar Bauer has on it's rider. No, Berend being a former drummer does NOT play drums in Bauer. Berend being a former drummer does NOT play drums in Bauer. Berend being a former drummer does NOT play drums in Bauer. Berend being a former drummer does NOT play drums in Bauer. Berend being a former drummer does NOT play drums in Bauer.

What does Bauer mean? Chicken.

Why all the synths? ‘Cause Berend’s just really fed up with the ol’ crazy distorted axes that infest CD storage systems.
